"This is the template which we would like to go ahead with" - Suryakumar Yadav on India's attacking approach with the bat
The Indian batters have shown positive intent right from the word go in the ongoing T20I series against Sri Lanka. Speaking in the post-match presentation after the second fixture, Suryakumar Yadav emphasized that the side are keen to back the same approach in the format.
Lauding his teammates' performances in the second T20I, Suryakumar said (via Cricbuzz):
"We spoke about this before this tournament - what brand of cricket we want to play. Even if it's a shorter target or whatever target we are chasing, this is the template which we would like to go ahead with. With the weather around, anything below 160 would have been nice."
"The games which we have seen here before have always been tricky. Rain helped us. The way the boys batted, it was wonderful. We'll sit and decide what we want to do going forward," he added
The third T20I between India and Sri Lanka will be played at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Pallekele on Tuesday, July 30. After the completion of the T20I series, the two Asian teams will battle it out in a three-match ODI series, beginning August 2.
