[Watch] Gautam Gambhir and his wife Natasha Jain attend Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding ceremony in Mumbai

Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and his wife Natasha Jain attended the wedding ceremony of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in Mumbai on Friday. The BCCI recently appointed Gambhir as Team India's head coach as Rahul Dravid's contract expired after the 2024 T20 World Cup.

After a couple of seasons as a mentor with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Gambhir reunited with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) this season and had a successful run. The KKR side won the IPL trophy after a long gap of 10 years.

Gautam Gambhir also got some credit for the franchise's success in IPL 2024, along with other team management members. It certainly played a major role in securing him the head coach position of Team India. He will take over the charge from the upcoming Sri Lanka tour later this month.

Gautam Gambhir was spotted in Mumbai on Friday at the wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. An Instagram page named Viralbhayani gave a glimpse of him and his wife Natasha at the event by sharing a video.

"Maintaining and taking the legacy forward will be a challenging task"- Aakash Chopra on Gautam Gambhir after he is appointed India's head coach

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra recently gave his opinion on Gautam Gambhir's appointment as India's head coach after the conclusion of Rahul Dravid's tenure. He pointed out that Dravid's run was successful and felt that Gambhir should take the legacy forward. In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Chopra said:

"You have to take a huge legacy forward. India have reached the final of the last three ICC events - the WTC final, the 50-over World Cup, and have lifted the trophy in the T20 World Cup final. So Dravid has left behind a fantastic legacy because of the job he did. Rohit Sharma also wrote a huge post about that legacy. Maintaining and taking the legacy forward will be a challenging task."

On the challenges ahead for Gambhir, he continued:

"You feel that India have to progress from here. We haven't won a series in England for a long time, so we have to win a series there. Can we retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy - that will be another big thing. You will have the Champions Trophy, then the T20 World Cup, and the WTC final in between. There are three ICC events in the next two years and you expect to win at least two."
