[Watch] George Munsey nails switch hit for a 6 off Glenn Maxwell in AUS vs SCO 2024 T20 World Cup match
Scotland opener George Munsey smacked a switch hit for a six off Glenn Maxwell in the 2024 T20 World Cup match against Australia at Gros Islet, St Lucia on Saturday (June 15). The left-hander looked impressive with the bat, scoring 35 runs off 23 balls with the help of three sixes and two boundaries.
The exceptional shot came in the fifth over of Scotland’s innings. Maxwell bowled a length ball and Munsey got into position early. The batter met the bat and ball to perfection and the wind helped it sail over cover for a magnificent six. He finished with another maximum followed by a four towards the mid-on boundary as the over yielded 18 runs.

“We are disappointed, but this is a great learning for us” – Richie Berrington lauds Scotland for impressive performance in 2024 T20 World Cup
Scotland captain Richie Berrington lauded his side for their brilliant performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup despite losing to Australia by five wickets in the last over. Scotland failed to qualify for the Super Eights due to a lower net run rate than defending champions England despite having equal points (5).
Berrington said in the post-match show:
“I thought we were in a good position. We were in a great position for the first 10 overs. We had a really good start, but it was a good wicket and we should have executed a bit better with the bat. There is a bit of breeze on this ground, so we were trying to make them hit away from the crease."
“A few overs we didn't nail, and they (Australia) capitalized. We were expecting a bit more with the bat after the position we got ourselves in, but all the guys can hold their heads up high. We are disappointed, but this is a great learning for us,” he added.
