[Watch] Gerald Coetzee dismisses Abhishek Sharma cheaply again in IND vs SA 2nd T20I
Gerald Coetzee dismissed Abhishek Sharma cheaply again in the second T20I between India and South Africa at Gqeberha on Sunday, November 10. After managing just seven runs in the first game, Abhishek departed for just four in the second match.
The dismissal came in the second over India’s innings. Coetzee bowled a short ball and Abhishek went for a pull, but only managed a top edge. Marco Jansen took the catch at short fine leg. Abhishek took a review but the ball’s height was chest level and not above the shoulder.

With the dismissal, Abhishek Sharma continued his flop show with the bat following his century in Zimbabwe in his only second T20I. Since then, the left-handed batter has returned with scores of 10, 14, 16, 15, 4, 7 and 4 (today).
Meanwhile, Gerald Coetzee struck early after starring with the ball in the opening clash, where he scalped four wickets. Notably, he had dismissed Sharma in the first game as well.
India lose Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson early in 2nd T20I vs South Africa
Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee provided a promising start to South Africa by dismissing openers Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson early in the second T20I against India. Jansen cleaned up in-form Samson, who smashed 107 off 50 balls in the opening game.
At the time of writing, the Men in Blue were 15/3 after 4.1 overs, with Axar Patel and Tilak Varma at the crease. Suryakumar Yadav was the last batter to be dismissed, lbw by Andile Simelane.
The Suryakumar Yadav-led side are leading the four-match T20I series 1-0 after they won the opening fixture by 61 runs in Durban. Besides Samson's batting, Varun Chakaravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi picked up three wickets apiece in the bowling department.
Team India are searching for their first T20I series win in SA following the 2017/18 rubber, which they won 2-1. The last T20I series between the two teams ended in a 1-1 draw in 2023/24.
The two teams will next lock horns in the third T20I in Centurion on Wednesday, November 13.
