[Watch] Gerald Coetzee shocks Liam Livingstone with express pace; fantastic caught-and-bowled during PBKS vs MI IPL 2024 match

Mumbai Indians (MI) speedster Gerald Coetzee handed Punjab Kings (PBKS) a body blow in their chase as he dismissed the dangerous Liam Livingstone during their IPL 2024 face-off at Mullanpur on Thursday, April 18.

Coetzee was clocking up great speeds in his first over and already had picked up the wicket of Prabhsimran Singh. However, he backed it up with a brilliant back-of-a-length delivery to start his second over and beat Livingstone for pace.

Liam Livingstone was late on his pull shot and could only lob it towards Gerald Coetzee. The pacer stretched and took a brilliant catch in his follow-through to dismiss the big-hitter for 1(2) and leave Punjab reeling at 14/4.

Here's the video of the dismissal:

Mumbai Indians opened the bowling with Coetzee and Jasprit Bumrah and reaped the rewards with four wickets inside the first four overs of play.

Shashank Singh resurrects PBKS' chase after MI's early carnage

Harpreet Bhatia then joined Shashank Singh at the crease as PBKS looked to consolidate their innings. A stunning catch by Shreyas Gopal off his own bowling sent Bhatia back, while Jitesh Sharma too didn't last long as he was struck in front off Akash Madhwal.

The partnership of Shashank and Ashutosh Sharma has already won Punjab a game from an incredibly tough situation and the duo are back together again with the score reading 77/6 in the 10th over,

While MI have picked up six wickets, they will be wary that the required run rate is not by any means outside Punjab's reach. Hardik Pandya will know that he has to keep chipping away with wickets just like his team has so far at the time of writing. It will be interesting to see how the Mi skipper uses his fifth bowler quota with the likes of Mohammad Nabi and Romario Shepherd.
