[Watch] Hardik Pandya hits a spectacular no-look six despite losing balance during IND vs AUS T20 World Cup match
The highlight of Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya's handy cameo against Australia was a six that he hit off Marcus Stoinis' bowling. It came during the T20 World Cup Super 8 encounter between the two teams in St. Lucia on Monday, June 24. The specialty of the six was that Hardik didn't appear to even watch the ball as he made contact.
The Men in Blue needed to get a move on with just two overs remaining and Hardik was ready with the opened-up stance to access both sides. He got a delivery wide of off-stump and away from his hitting arc but was still able to get it right from the meat of the bat.
Hardik Pandya timed the ball so sweetly that it flew over the covers for a six despite him losing the balance. He naturally hit a no-look six, swiveling in the process. Here's a video of the six:
Hardik hit another six the very next ball which was right in the slot over long off. The all-rounder getting into good positions with a stable base has been helping his pace hitting immensely of late.
Hardik Pandya's cameo was much-needed after Rohit Sharma's mayhem
Indian captain Rohit Sharma arguably played an innings of a lifetime in the shortest format on Monday. His 92 off just 41 balls gave the Men in Blue an incredible platform to explode. The veteran opener smashed the Australian bowlers to all parts of the ground before the visitors clawed their way back into the game.
After Rohit's wicket, the Aussie bowlers used their variations and bowled into the pitch to make things difficult for the Men in Blue's middle order. Hardik's cheeky little cameo of 27* off 17 ensured that his team crossed the 200-run mark and posted a challenging target of 206 for Australia.
