[Watch] Hardik Pandya practises no-look sixes ahead of IND vs ENG T20 World Cup semifinal
Hardik Pandya is India's designated finisher in the ongoing T20 World Cup and has been practising some of his trademark big shots in the nets. One such shot is the no-look six he was seen trying to nail in a video he posted on Instagram.
Ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup semifinal against England, Hardik was sweating it out in the nets and seemed to be focussing on getting his timing right with the explosive shots. He played a no-look swivel-pull shot and also a no-look slog over cow corner in the nets.
Here's the video posted by Hardik Pandya:
Hardik has been impressive with the ball in the T20 World Cup since the start. However, his 50* off 27 balls against Bangladesh, followed by a handy 27* off 17 against Australia, are signs that he is peaking at the right time with the bat as well.
Hardik Pandya gave a stellar performance in India's previous T20 World Cup semifinal
The last time India played the T20 World Cup semifinal was also against England in Adelaide in 2022. While the Men in Blue suffered a comprehensive 10-wicket defeat, Hardik Pandya's blitz with the bat was the lone shining light.
Hardik scored 63 runs off just 33 balls in a knock that included four boundaries and five sixes. While most of the other Indian batters struggled to maintain the tempo of the scoring, Hardik's sensational knock gave the Men in Blue some hope with 168/6 on the board.
That hope was dashed pretty quickly by England as Jos Buttler (80* off 49) and Alex Hales (86* off 47) took England to 170/0 with as many as four overs remaining. India have a chance to avenge that defeat in the second semifinal of the ongoing tournament in Guyana on Thursday, June 27.
