[Watch] Hardik Pandya shows off T20 World Cup trophy as Team India reach Mumbai airport ahead of bus parade

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya was seen flaunting the T20 World Cup trophy on his way out from the Mumbai airport as the Men in Blue were set to leave for Nariman Point for their open-top bus parade. The crowd gathered at the airport went berserk as Hardik walked out with the trophy and showed it off amidst huge cheers.

The open-top bus parade was supposed to start around 5 pm IST, but the Indian team reached Mumbai around 6:30 pm IST and are now set to hit the Marine Drive which is packed with thousands of supporters.


AB de Villiers hails Hardik Pandya for his performance in the final

Hardik Pandya stepped up once again when it mattered the most as his figures of 3/20 helped India beat South Africa in the T20 World Cup final by seven runs. De Villiers shed light on the tough time Hardik had gone through with all the booing he received as Mumbai Indians captain.

Although De Villiers wanted South Africa to win, he had immense respect for Hardik Pandya's redemption. Here's what he said in a video on his YouTube channel:

"He (Hardik) made everyone proud out there. Although I didn't want him to succeed like that, I look back at it and have a lot of respect for that. He is a big man for the big moments and that's exactly the way he played. To all the Mumbai Indians fans who doubted him, I'm pretty sure he has secured a place in your hearts for the future."

Hardik's wickets included the big scalps of Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller at crucial junctures. He picked up a total of 11 scalps in the tournament and also contributed with 144 runs as a finisher at a strike rate of more than 150.
