[Watch] Haris Rauf roars in delight after helping Welsh Fire win against Trent Rockets

Welsh Fire player Haris Rauf was pumped up as he helped his side win a thriller against Trent Rockets in the 14th match of The Hundred Men’s Competition. The game took place on Saturday, August 3, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

Chasing a target of 130, the Trent Rockets needed nine runs off the last five balls. Rauf dismissed Imad Wasim on the 96th ball to bring the game in Welsh Fire's favor. On the next three balls, the Pakistani speedster conceded only four runs.

The Trent Rockets needed five off the last ball with Luke Wood on strike. Wood failed to make a connection as Rauf followed him, helping the Welsh Fire win by four runs. Rauf roared in delight and jumped in the air to celebrate the victory.

Trent Rockets needed 18 off the last 10 deliveries with five wickets remaining but failed to get over the line. Haris Rauf and David Payne took two wickets each for the Welsh Fire.


Jonny Bairstow shines for Welsh Fire in first innings

After being asked to bat first, Welsh Fire didn’t start well as they lost Luke Wells off the second ball for a duck. Soon after, Joe Clark was dismissed for five by Imad Wasim. Jonny Bairstow and captain Tom Abell then stitched together a 90-run partnership off 63 balls before the latter was removed by Joe Root for 33.

Bairstow was brilliant; the right-handed batter scored 55 off 45 balls, smashing seven fours and one maximum. The Welsh Fire finished at 129/6 in 100 balls. Wasim and Sam Cook bagged two wickets each for the Trent Rockets.

In response, the Welsh Fire bowlers held their nerve to win a thriller of a game by four runs.
