[Watch] Haris Rauf saves a pitch invader from security ahead of Champions One-Day Cup 2024

Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf defended a pitch invader from a security official during a practice session ahead of the Champions One-Day Cup 2024. The video of the incident has gone viral, with fans praising Rauf for his gesture towards the fan.

Rauf will represent Stallions in the much-awaited tournament, which is slated to be played from September 12 to 29. Dolphins, Lions, Panthers, Stallions and Wolves are the five teams, with 150 cricketers participating in the tournament. Saud Shakeel, Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Rizwan are the respective captains.

All the teams are busy with their practice sessions with the tournament fast approaching. During a Stallions practice session in Faislabad, a fan climbed through the barricade to enter the field, where all the players were playing football.

The fan ran through the field to reach Haris Rauf, who engaged him in a playful manner.

After the invader fell on the ground, the pacer picked him up and ran with him en route to the stands. He also urged the security official to let him get away and dropped him near the fence. A little fan was then witnessed climbing back to the barricade.

In response to Rauf's efforts, the crowd chanted, "Haris Haris". Moreover, social media was also abuzz with many offering their respect for the pacer.


How has Haris Rauf fared since T20 World Cup 2024?

Since picking up seven wickets in the T20 World Cup, Haris Rauf has featured in the Major League Cricket (MLC) and The Hundred.

Playing for the runner-ups, San Francisco Unicorns in the MLC, Rauf bagged only four wickets in nine games. However, he had a strong showing in the Hundred, while representing Welsh Fire. The right-arm pacer scalped 11 wickets in six games, with best figures of 3/20.

Rauf is likely to return to international action later this year during the Australia Tour, where Pakistan are slated to play ODI and T20I series.
