Harmeet Singh struck twice to dismiss the dangerous-looking Quinton de Kock and David Miller off consecutive deliveries to bring the USA back in their 2024 T20 World Cup clash against South Africa in Antigua on Wednesday (June 19). De Kock perished for 74 runs off 40 balls in an innings laced with five sixes and seven boundaries. Meanwhile, David Miller departed for a golden duck.
The dismissal came in the 13th over of the Proteas innings. The left-arm spinner bowled a full toss and De Kock failed to get underneath the ball. The left-hander ended up playing it to Shayan Jahangir, who took a well-judged catch at deep mid-wicket. Harmeet followed that up with a flighted delivery to Miller, who handed an easy catch to him.

Harmeet Singh finished with exceptional figures of 2/24 in the match. The Mumbai-born player has played domestic cricket (31 first-class matches and 19 List-A games) from 2009 to 2020. The 31-year-old played for Seattle Orcas in the inaugural 2023 edition of Major League Cricket (MLC).
South Africa in driver’s seat against USA in 2024 T20 World Cup Super-Eight match
A clinical batting display from Quinton de Kock and skipper Aiden Markram helped SA dominate the USA in their Super Eight 2024 T20 World Cup match. Apart from De Kock, Markram scored 46 off 32 balls, including one six and four boundaries. The duo shared a 110-run partnership for the second wicket.
At the time of writing, the Proteas were 177/4 after 18.1 overs, with Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs at the crease.
The USA pipped Pakistan to become the second team from Group A to qualify for the second round of the 2024 T20 World Cup. They will look to continue their impressive show after beating Canada and Pakistan in the group stage. Their game against Ireland was abandoned due to rain.
On the other hand, SA won all of their four grouo games, including a one-run win over Nepal in group D.
