“She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer” – Shreyas Iyer on Shresta

Shreyas Iyer, in an old conversation, revealed that his sister Shresta is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer. The Mumbai batter also revealed that he loves vibing to Bollywood songs.

Iyer told Mashable India:

"I try to be better than my sister. She is a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and also does a lot of western dance forms now. I would say that she's a better dancer than me, definitely. Whenever I go to the club, I just love to vibe to African music and Bollywood songs."

Shreyas Iyer also opened up on his bonding with Shresta while growing up together. He said:

"My sister and I used to fight a lot while growing up. We have hit each other a lot, even with the utensils. I was the one who had to take most of the beating."

On the professional front, Shreyas Iyer had a forgetful ODI series in Sri Lanka, returning with scores of 23, seven, and eight runs in his three outings earlier this month. He, however, led the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to the Indian Premier League (IPL) trophy this year.

Iyer will next be in action for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu tournament, which starts in Coimbatore on August 27. He will also play in the Duleep Trophy ahead of the Test series against Bangladesh in September.
