[Watch] Hilarious mix-up as Pat Cummins and Corey Anderson run to the same end but avoid run-out in MINY vs SFU MLC 2024 match

San Francisco Unicorns' Pat Cummins and Corey Anderson were involved in a hilarious mix-up during their Major League Cricket (MLC) fixture against MI New York at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Thursday, July 18. The pair ran towards the same end at first but avoided a run-out.

The incident occurred in the 18th over of San Francisco's innings as Pat Cummins steered one towards point off Romario Shepherd's bowling. However, Anderson was caught ball watching the two eventually ended at the same end.

Here's the video:

Anderson played a captain's knock of 59 off 37 deliveries, while Hassan Khan chipped in with a 35-ball 44 as the Unicorns reached a competitive total of 148 in their 20 overs.

San Franciso eventually won the game by three runs.

Meanwhile, Cummins, who played a handy knock of 13 off 12 deliveries, could not take a wicket but conceded only 27 runs in his quota of four overs. But the Unicorns ultimately prevailed in a nail-biting contest.

Only Nicholas Pooran and Dewald Brevis from the MI top five got to double figures. Following Brevis' (58 off 36) departure in the 10th over, the defending champions crumbled.

Kieron Pollard, Monank Patel, and Romario Shepherd departed for single-figure scores, while Rashid Khan and Heath Richards were faced with the task of scoring 20 runs in the final over.

Richards clattered the first four deliveries of the 20th over for 10 runs, including a maximum. He then struck another six to bring the equation down for MI to four required off the last delivery, but Haris Rauf held his nerves to dismiss him lbw.

The Unicorns will next face the Seattle Orcas on July 21, while MI New York will lock horns against the Los Angeles Knight Riders on July 22.
