[Watch] Hilarious scenes as Rishabh Pant helps Bangladesh set field on IND vs BAN 1st Test Day 3

In a hilarious incident, India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant helped Bangladesh set the field on Day 3 of the ongoing Test at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Saturday, September 21. The 26-year-old is a funny character and keeps the players and fans entertained with his chatter on the field, especially while keeping.

The incident took place during the 35th over of India’s second innings. The left-handed batter informed Taskin Ahmed to place the fielder at mid-wicket and surprisingly the bowler agreed with him and moved his position from the mid-off region.

Sharing the clip on X, Jio Cinema’s official handle wrote:

“Always in the captain’s ear, even when it’s the opposition’s! Never change, Rishabh Pant!”

Rishabh Pant hits century on his comeback Test vs Bangladesh

Rishabh Pant scored 109 runs off 128 balls in his comeback Test vs Bangladesh. This was his first Test for India after returning to competitive cricket earlier this year. The southpaw had played his last Test in December 2022 against the same opposition before sustaining multiple injuries in a car accident a few days later.

Pant also chipped in with 39 off 52 in the first innings. He remains critical to India’s success in the ongoing Test season, with the Men in Blue set to play against New Zealand and Australia as well. Rohit Sharma's men are aiming to make it to the third consecutive World Test Championship (WTC) final.

During his century, Pant shared a 167-run partnership with Shubman Gill for the fourth wicket. The latter stayed unbeaten on 119 off 176 deliveries, comprising four sixes and 10 boundaries. The duo helped India declare at 287/4 in the second innings, setting a 515-run target for Bangladesh.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh in the second innings, picking up two wickets.

At the time of writing, the visitors were 56 without loss, with Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam at the crease.
