[Watch] "Hopefully we visit Pakistan soon" - Virat Kohli interacts with Mountaineer Shehroze Kashif on video call

Pakistan mountaineer Shehroze Kashif could not hide his excitement as he took to his Instagram handle to share his video call conversation with legendary batter Virat Kohli. Shehroze is renowned for being the world's youngest climber to summit K2 in July 2021.

Incidentally, in Nepal in 2022, Shehroze claims to have contacted a stranger from India who praised his work and mentioned his connections with the Indian cricket team. Shehroze expressed his wish to talk to Virat Kohli and the stranger made his dream a reality.

While sharing the video of his conversation with Kohli, Shehroze captioned it:

"In 2022 i was in Nepal when a stranger, originally from India(ofc not gonna say his name so he doesn’t get in any trouble due to political reasons), praised my work. He mentioned he had connections to the cricket team, so I jokingly expressed my desire to talk to Virat Kohli. To my surprise, he messaged Kohli on my behalf, and I had the opportunity to chat with him via video call. As a Pakistani, I proudly acknowledge Kohli as the greatest batsman of this era."

In the video, Kohli could be heard saying:

"Give my regards to your family and all your friends. Hopefully, we visit Pakistan soon, everyone's started visiting now."

Kohli has never played an international game in Pakistan, with 2008 being the last time India visited the neighboring nation.

The 2025 Champions Trophy is slated to be played in Pakistan but there is a cloud over India's participation in the tournament due to their reluctance to tour the country.

Virat Kohli is currently enjoying tremendous success in IPL 2024

Coming to the action on the field, Virat Kohli has been in sensational form in the ongoing IPL 2024 season.

The 35-year-old is the leading run-scorer with 661 runs at an average of 66.10 and a strike rate of 155.16 in 13 games. Kohli has also smashed five half-centuries and a century thus far to help Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) remain in playoff contention.

RCB are currently sixth on the points table with six wins and seven losses, with one game remaining. RCB will take on arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their league-stage finale in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 18.

They will need a win by a considerable margin to leapfrog CSK on the standings and finish fourth to book a playoff spot.
