[Watch] Ignored for IND vs BAN 2nd Test, Ishan Kishan hits a flurry of boundaries in Duleep Trophy

Ishan Kishan scored a flurry of boundaries in the Duleep Trophy clash between India A and India C at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur on Day 4 (Sunday, September 22). The boundaries came during the 49th and 50th over of India C innings bowled by Shams Mulani and Aaqib Khan.

Kishan first converted an overpitched delivery from Mulani into a low full toss for a brilliant straight drive to get off the mark. The left-handed batter then played two beautiful cover drives off Aaqib in the next over.

Kishan recently slammed 111 runs off 126 balls against India B in the Duleep Trophy. The Jharkhand wicketkeeper-batter also slammed a century in the recently concluded Buchi Babu tournament. The 26-year-old, however, failed to find a place in the two Tests against Bangladesh as the BCCI retained the same squad for the upcoming second Test.

With Rishabh Pant’s return and Dhruv Jurel in the squad, Ishan Kishan is unlikely to be picked for the three-match Test series against New Zealand next month.

Kishan has represented India in two Tests so far. He scored 78 runs, including a half-century in three innings. The youngster fell out of favor with the BCCI after withdrawing his name during the Test series against South Africa last year.
