[Watch] "It is famous because of Rinku Singh"- Varun Dhawan on using God's Plan as caption

Famous Bollywood star Varun Dhawan accepted that he was inspired by Rinku Singh and the latter's belief in god. Rinku is seen using the phrase 'God's Plan' in his social media posts. It all began during the IPL 2024 season for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

During a recent event, the presenter asked Varun Dhawan about one of his Instagram posts that had the caption 'God's plan' and asked him the reason behind it. Dhawan revealed that he was inspired by Rinku, saying (via Viral Bhayani Instagram):

"God's plan. It is a song by Drake but it is famous because of Rinku Singh. Even I believe. Rinku bowled a fabulous 19th over. "

Varun Dhawan congratulated Rinku for bowling a thrilling 19th over during the third T20I against Sri Lanka where he gave away just three runs and picked up the wickets of Kusal Perera and Ramesh Mendis.

Rinku Singh reflects on his bowling performance

Rinku Singh conceded he wasn't aware that he would be asked to bowl the 19th over when Sri Lanka needed just nine runs to win from two overs. However, he did mention that Suryakumar Yadav had told him to be ready to roll his arm over if needed.

Here's what he said in a video posted by BCCI (via cricket.one):

"I have scalped quite some wickets in domestic cricket, and I even have a wicket in ODIs. Surya had informed me to be ready for bowling in the series. Although I did not bowl in the run-up to this game, Surya bhai had asked me to keep rehearsing my bowling. I did not expect to be asked to bowl during the game, as the situation was quite tight. But, he asked me to roll my arm over. And, once I began bowling, it was God's plan – two wickets."

Rinku finished the T20I series with two runs and as many wickets in three games.
