Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal stood up to Australian ace pacer Mitchell Starc on Day 2 of the first Test in Perth on Saturday, November 23. Jaiswal sledged Starc by asking him to bowl faster after getting a promising start in the second innings. The southpaw was dismissed by Starc for a duck in the first essay.
Jaiswal's fiery reaction came when Starc was bowling at 140kmph. Notably, the Australian pacer had exchanged a few words with Indian pacer Harshit Rana earlier in the innings. Notably, the left-arm pacer had dismissed him in the first innings for a duck.

Yashasvi Jaiswal made a brilliant start to his innings, keeping his eyes on the ball before unleashing his aggressive game. He then slammed a boundary off Starc towards deep square leg before playing an upper cut off Josh Hazlewood.
Jaiswal remains crucial to India’s fate in the five-match Test series. The left-handed batter is the second-highest run-getter in the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) cycle.

Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul provided a promising start to India in the second innings against Australia on Day 2. The duo ensured the tourists stretched their lead to 130.
At Tea on Day 2, the Men in Blue were 84 without loss, with Jaiswal (42 off 88) and Rahul (34 off 70) at the crease.
Earlier in the day, India bundled out Australia for 104 in the first innings to gain a 46-run first-innings lead. Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah led by example, returning with a five-wicket haul. Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj picked up three and two wickets, respectively. Mitchell Starc top-scored for Australia, scoring 26 off 112 deliveries.
Batting first, India were skittled out for 150 in the first innings. Josh Hazlewood emerged as the leading wicket-taker, picking up four wickets. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Marsh bagged two wickets apiece. Nitish Kumar Reddy, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul chipped in with 41 (59), 37 (78) and 26 (74), respectively.
