[Watch] "It's been a long journey with these wonderful friends" - Irfan Pathan enjoys car ride with Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu and Robin Uthappa
Former Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan posted a video on his official Instagram handle on Tuesday, July 9, in which he could be seen enjoying a car ride with close friends Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, and Robin Uthappa. He pointed out how the group has been together since 2000.
Pathan mentioned that the four players played Under 15 cricket together, and after all these years, are now participating in a league featuring retired cricketers together.
The cricketer-turned-commentator captioned the post:
"We started at u-15 and now we r here at 40s playing retired players league. It's been a long journey with these wonderful friends 🤗."
It is worth mentioning that Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, and Robin Uthappa are part of India Champions' squad in the ongoing World Championship of Legends 2024.
Irfan Pathan will be seen in action on Wednesday
India Champions kicked off their World Championship of Legends campaign with back-to-back victories against England Champions and West Indies Champions.
However, they lost steam following the early success, suffering losses to Pakistan Champions and Australia Champions in the subsequent two fixtures. The side will now compete against South Africa Champions at County Ground in Northampton on Wednesday, July 10.
Irfan Pathan is yet to pick up a single wicket in the tournament. He has scored 64 runs from four innings and was promoted to an opener in the team's previous match against Australia Champions. However, he failed to make a significant impact, getting out to Nathan Coulter-Nile after scoring just nine runs.
Robin Uthappa has been the top performer with the bat for India Champions so far, chalking up 124 runs from four outings. Suresh Raina has scored 99 runs from four innings while Ambati Rayudu has mustered 65 runs across two innings.
India Champions are currently third in the points table with two wins and as many losses to their name. Pakistan Champions and Australia Champions have already qualified for the semi-finals.
