Jemimah Rodrigues brought up her maiden half-century for Brisbane Heat in the 2024 Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) clash against Adelaide Strikers in Brisbane on Saturday, November 9. The right-handed batter took a single off Jemma Barsby to reach her half-century in the 17th over.
This was Jemimah’s third fifty in the tournament having scored two half-centuries for Melbourne Renegades in the previous editions. The 24-year-old eventually scored 61 runs off 40 balls, a knock laced with one six and seven boundaries. During her knock, she also completed 500 runs in the WBBL.

Apart from 61, Jemimah Rodrigues also returned with figures of 45, 13, and 5 in her last three innings in the T20 league.
Jemimah Rodrigues helps Brisbane Heat set a 176-run target for Adelaide Strikers in WBBL clash
A clinical batting display from Jemimah Rodrigues helped Brisbane Heat post 175/6 against Adelaide Strikers in the WBBL clash. Apart from Jemimah, Grace Harris, skipper Jess Jonassen and Nadine de Klerk also chipped in with 33 (22), 32 (21) and 23 (10), respectively.
Jemma Barsby emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Adelaide, picking up two wickets. Meanwhile, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown, Orla Prendergast, and Amanda-Jade Wellington picked up one wicket apiece.
Brisbane Heat had earlier beaten Adelaide by four wickets when the two teams last faced off this season. They are searching for their first win after losing three games on the trot. They are currently sixth in the points table with two wins in five games.
On the other hand, Adelaide Strikers will be looking to return to winning ways after losing back-to-back matches to Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades. They have managed a solitary victory in four games and are lying rock-bottom in the points table.
