[Watch] Jemimah Rodrigues shares unseen video of Indian team's bhangra with Sreejesh PR after India Hockey's Bronze win in Paris 2024

Indian cricket star Jemimah Rodrigues shared an unseen clip of her team enjoying a rapturous bhangra session with legendary hockey player PR Sreejesh. IT came after his side defeated Spain in the Paris 2024 Olympics to clinch the bronze medal on Thursday, August 8.

The video seemed from the 2022 Common Wealth Games when the Indian women's cricket team and the Hockey team were together in England. During the event, Jemimah had spoken about meeting Sreejesh and Badminton icon PV Sindhu.

In the event, Australia defeated Jemimah's in a nail-biting final. Meanwhile, Sreejesh's India were thumped 7-0 in a forgettable final to clinch its seventh consecutive Gold in the tournament history.

Sreejesh and Jemimah have shared a wholesome bond from even earlier, though. The former even appeared on Jemimah and teammate Smriti Mandhana's interview chat show "Double Trouble" in 2020.

On Thursday (August 8, 2024), Sreejesh acquired legendary status in Indian Hockey. He helped India to their first back-to-back Olympic medal since 1972 in his final game for the team. The goalkeeper was brilliant again between the sticks, making some crucial saves from open play and in Penalty Corners. One of his saves even came just minutes before the close as India held onto a narrow 2-1 lead.

As the 90-minute hooter went off, his teammates ran after, jumped over, and bowed down to him in unison as a tribute to his excellent career.

PR Sreejesh confirmed his retirement after the Bronze medal match

Sreejesh's performances naturally drew requests from admirers to continue playing the sport but he humbly denied it, saying (via India Today):

"I respect the love, the caring and sometimes, some decisions are hard. But making the decisions at the right time makes the situation more beautiful."

India women, meanwhile, recently lost the Asia Cup final to Sri Lanka and will now prepare for the T20 World Cup in September.
