Jemimah Rodrigues slammed a back-to-back six and four off Delhi Capitals teammate Marizanne Kapp in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024. The match took place between Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars in Sydney on Sunday, November 17.
Jemimah took the charge against Kapp in the 12th over. She first slammed a six over the bowler’s head off the penultimate delivery before hitting the next one towards deep mid-wicket for a one-bounce four.

Jemimah Rodrigues scored 45 runs off 31 balls, a knock laced with two maximums and five boundaries. This was her third crucial knock this season, having scored 61 and 45 against Adelaide Strikers and Hobart Hurricanes, respectively.

A clinical all-round performance helped Brisbane Heat beat Melbourne Stars by six wickets in WBBL.
Chasing 139, Brisbane achieved the target with 15 balls to spare. Apart from Jemimah Rodrigues, Charli Knott, Georgia Redmayne, and skipper Jess Jonassen chipped in with 35* (36), 19 (17), and 17* (11), respectively. Kim Garth, Tess Flintoff, and Annabel Sutherland chipped in with one wicket apiece.
Batting first, Melbourne Stars were bundled out for 138 in 20 overs. Kim Garth top-scored with 31* off 20 to help the team reach a respectable total. Skipper Annabel Sutherland and Rhys Mckenna chipped in with scores of 21 (18) and 20 (15), respectively.
Lucy Hamilton emerged as the leading wicket-taker, returning with stunning figures of 5/8, while Shikha Pandey bagged two wickets. Grace Parsons also scalped one wicket.
With the victory, Brisbane Heat jumped to the third spot in the points table. They have five wins in eight games, the same as the top two teams Sydney Thunder and Melbourne Renegades but a lower net run rate (NRR). On the other hand, Melbourne Stars stayed seventh with just two victories in seven matches.
