England ace pacer Jofra Archer leaked 21 runs off his opening over against South Africa in the 2024 T20 World Cup match at Gros Islet, St Lucia, on Friday, June 21. That came as the over witnessed two sixes and two boundaries, with Quinton de Kock scoring 17 runs off the first five deliveries.
The beating came in the fourth over of the Proteas’ innings. Archer began the over with a dot delivery before De Kock slammed him for consecutive sixes and a boundary. The left-hander took a single off the penultimate ball before Reeza Hendricks hit a boundary at mid-wicket to finish the over.

Jofra Archer has failed to live up to expectations after his England comeback for the 2024 T20 World Cup. He has bagged six wickets in five matches, including 3/12 against Oman.
At the toss, England skipper Jos Buttler pointed out that they want to ensure Archer slowly gets back to the scheme of things. At the toss, he said:
"Obviously want to look after him as well as we can (Jofra). He's in a good place."
On the other hand, Quinton de Kock looked impressive against co-hosts USA, scoring 74 off 40 balls to return to form. He will look to consolidate a good start.

A clinical batting display from Quinton de Kock helped South Africa get off to a brilliant start against defending champions England. That came after the Proteas were asked to bat first in the ongoing Super-Eight clash.
At the time of writing, SA were 75-0 after eight overs, with openers De Kock (58 off 29) and Reeza Hendricks (14 off 19) at the crease.
Aiden Markram’s SA began the tournament on a high note as they won all four of their group-stage games. They will look to continue their winning streak in the mega ICC event.
Meanwhile, the Jos Buttler-led side qualified as Australia beat Scotland in their last group-stage fixture. England qualified as they had a better net run rate than Scotland.
