Jonny Bairstow smashed two monstrous sixes off Andre Russell in the IPL 2024 match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Eden Gardens on Friday (April 26).
For the unversed, the right-hander smashed a length ball for a massive six towards deep backward square before punishing a short delivery towards the same region into the crowd. Earlier in the over, Rilee Rossouw had smashed a xix towards deep mid-wicket for a maximum.
With three sixes, the 12th over yielded 24 runs as Punjab pulled off a monstrous chase of 262 against the Knight Riders with eight deliveries to spare.

What happened in KKR vs PBKS IPL 2024 match so far?
Asked to bat first, KKR put up 261-6 in their allotted 20 overs. Phil Salt and Sunil Narine starred with a 138-run partnership for the opening wicket.
Salt smashed 75 off 37 in an innings featuring six sixes and as many boundaries. Narine hit a quickfire 71 off 32 with the help of four maximums and nine boundaries. Venkatesh Iyer, captain Shreyas Iyer and Andre Russell chipped in with 39 (23), 28 (10) and 24 (12), respectively.
Arshdeep Singh starred with the ball for PBKS, picking up two wickets, but leaked 45 runs. Captain Sam Curran, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar bagged two wickets apiece.
In response, Jonny Bairstow led the run chase for the visitors with an unbeaten 108 (48), while Shashank Singh remained not out on 68 off 28.
PBKS registered their third win of the IPL season in nine games, snapping a four-game losing streak. KKR have now won five of eight games. They beat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by one run in their last game to return to winning ways after losing to Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring game.
