[Watch] Jos Buttler hits a monstrous 115-meter six during WI vs ENG 2nd T20I 2024
England captain Jos Buttler smashed a colossal six off Gudakesh Motie that sailed out of the stadium during the second T20I of the five-match series on Monday, November 11. The game was held at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados.
The standout moment came on the third ball of the ninth over of England's innings. Motie delivered a length ball, and Buttler charged down the pitch, hitting it perfectly and sending it soaring over the roof for a massive 115-meter six.
Here’s a video of the shot:
Chasing a target of 159, England didn’t get off to the best start, losing last game's centurion Philip Salt for a golden duck to Akeal Hosein. However, Jos Buttler and Will Jacks (38 off 29 balls) combined for a brilliant 129-run partnership off just 72 balls for the second wicket.
Buttler smashed 83 off 45 balls, including eight fours and six sixes. Liam Livingstone remained unbeaten on 23 off 11 balls as England cruised to a seven-wicket victory with 31 balls to spare.
A brilliant bowling effort helps England restrict the West Indies to a below-par total
England won the toss and elected to bowl first. Saqib Mahmood gave the visitors an early breakthrough, dismissing Brandon King for just 1. In the next over, Jofra Archer joined the action, removing Evin Lewis for eight.
Nicholas Pooran had a frustrating innings, scoring only 14 off 23 balls at a sluggish strike rate of 60.87. Roston Chase (13) and Sherfane Rutherford (1) also failed to make an impression, as the West Indies lost half their side for just 80 runs after 13 overs.
Captain Rovman Powell top-scored with 43 off 41 balls while Romario Shepherd added 22 off 12. Saqib Mahmood, Liam Livingstone, and Dan Mousley each took two wickets as England limited the West Indies to 158/8 in their 20 overs.
