[Watch] Jos Buttler smashes 62* off 24 balls in T10 League, days ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction

England's white-ball captain Jos Buttler showcased his outstanding form, smashing a blistering fifty in the third match of the 2024 Abu Dhabi T10 League. The match took place on Thursday, November 21, at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in the UAE. The knock came just days before the much-anticipated IPL 2025 mega auction, scheduled for November 24-25.

In a surprising move, Rajasthan Royals decided to release the dynamic batter. With multiple teams likely to target the 34-year-old, Buttler demonstrated his power-hitting skills for Deccan Gladiators against Chennai Brave Jaguars on Thursday.

Coming in at No. 4, Buttler blasted the first ball he faced for a six. He also took on Sri Lanka’s spinner Akila Dananjaya, hitting three sixes and a boundary in a single over. Buttler brought up his fifty in just 15 balls, finishing unbeaten on 62 off 24 balls, with four fours and six sixes.

With Buttler in stellar form just days before the IPL auction, he’s set to be one of the top-priced players, backed by his impressive record in the tournament. He's accumulated 3,582 runs in 107 matches, including seven centuries.


Jos Buttler powers Deccan Gladiators to a comfortable win against the Chennai Brave Jaguars in Abu Dhabi T10 League 2024

The Deccan Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl first. Luke Wood struck early, dismissing Joshua Harvey Brown for a duck. However, Rassie van der Dussen and Chris Lynn countered with a strong partnership, adding 121 runs off 49 balls for the second wicket.

Dussen scored 62 off 29 balls, while Lynn remained unbeaten on 68 off 28 balls, helping the Jaguars finish their innings at 141/2 after 20 overs. In response, Jos Buttler (62* off 24 balls) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (51 off 24 balls) scored fifties. They led the Gladiators to a seven-wicket win with two balls to spare.
