[Watch] Josh Inglis reaches his second T20I century with a maximum in AUS vs SCO 2nd T20I 2024

Australia's wicketkeeper batter Josh Inglis reached his second T20I century in style, hitting a massive six during the second match of the three-game T20I series against Scotland on Friday. The game was held at Grange Cricket Club in Edinburgh.

Inglis achieved his milestone on the second delivery of the 18th over. Scotland seamer Bradley Currie bowled a length ball, which Inglis powerfully lofted for a six over deep mid-wicket. The 29-year-old reached his century in just 43 balls, setting the record as the fastest Australian to score a T20I hundred.

Inglis made 103 off 49 balls, hitting seven boundaries and as many sixes. Cameron Green scored 36 off 29 balls, while Marcus Stoinis remained unbeaten on run-a-ball 20.

Towards the end, Tim David played a brilliant cameo, scoring 17* off seven balls. Australia finished their 20 overs with a total of 196/4. Bradley Currie was the standout bowler for Scotland, claiming three wickets for 37 runs in his four-over spell.

Chasing 197, Scotland had a rough start, losing opener Michael Jones for just one run in the second over. In the following over, his partner George Munsey was dismissed by Xavier Bartlett for 19 off nine balls.

Brandon McMullen scored consistently from one end but lacked support. The Scotland No. 3 made 59 off 42 balls, hitting four boundaries and as many sixes. Marcus Stoinis was outstanding for the visitors in the middle overs, taking wickets at regular intervals.

Eventually, Scotland were dismissed for 126 in 16.4 overs, losing the match by 70 runs. Stoinis was the top performer for Australia with the ball, claiming four wickets.

The series will conclude with the final game on Saturday, September 7.
