[Watch] Kavisha Dilhari hits a brilliant ‘dilscoop’ against New Zealand in the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup
Sri Lankan batter Kavisha Dilhari executed a stunning ‘dilscoop’ off Sophie Devine during the 15th match of the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup against New Zealand on Saturday, October 12. The game is being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE.
The standout moment came on the first ball of the 16th over of Sri Lanka's innings. Devine delivered a slower full ball outside off stump. Dilhari crouched to one knee and flawlessly executed the scoop, sending the ball soaring over the wicketkeeper for a boundary.

Dilhari was unable to make a notable impact on the game. The right-handed batter scored 10 runs off nine balls, hitting one boundary before being dismissed by Amelia Kerr.
A brilliant bowling effort helps New Zealand restrict Sri Lanka to a low total
Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first. Eden Carson gave the White Ferns an early breakthrough by dismissing Sri Lankan opener Vishmi Gunaratne for eight runs in the fourth over.
Captain Chamari Athapaththu and Harshita Madavi formed a partnership of 48 runs but they played at a very low strike rate, consuming 60 balls. Madavi scored 18 runs off 29 balls while Athapaththu contributed 35 off 41 balls, hitting five boundaries.
Later in the innings, Nilakshi de Silva remained unbeaten on 14 runs off 11 balls, as Sri Lanka finished their innings at 115/5 in 20 overs. For New Zealand, Leigh Kasperek and Amelia Kerr took two wickets each.
Sri Lanka has already been eliminated from the tournament after losing their first three games. Meanwhile, New Zealand is in third place with one win from two matches. Defending champions Australia are at the top of Group A with three wins from as many games while India sits in second place with two wins in three matches.
