India B wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant and India A player Kuldeep Yadav engaged in hilarious banter during their Duleep Trophy game on Sunday, September 8, at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The moment unfolded in the 41st over of India A’s innings.
After Kuldeep Yadav struck the fifth ball for a boundary, Rishabh Pant had all the fielders move in closer before the final delivery to prevent a single, ensuring that Akash Deep would face the next over. Rishabh Pant said:
“Sab upar rehna single ke liye sare.” [Everyone stay close to stop the single].
In response, Kuldeep Yadav replied:
“Me nahi lunga.” [ I won’t take the single]
Pant then sought reassurance from Kuldeep, asking him to swear on his mother. The wicketkeeper-batter responded:
“Kha le maa kasam nhi lega.” [ Asking Kuldeep to swear on his mother]

Kuldeep Yadav eventually defended the last ball for no run. The left-handed batter scored 14 runs off 56 balls, including one boundary, before being dismissed by Washington Sundar.
India B beat India A by 76 runs in the Duleep Trophy match
Chasing 275, India A got off to a poor start, losing opener Mayank Agarwal for just three in the second over. Riyan Parag, batting at No. 3, played aggressively and scored 31 off 18 balls, including one boundary and three sixes, before being dismissed by Yash Dayal. Captain Shubman Gill also failed to build on his start and was out for 21, dismissed by Navdeep Saini.
Dhruv Jurel had a disappointing outing, falling for a golden duck to Dayal. Meanwhile, Mukesh Kumar claimed his first wicket by dismissing Tanush Kotian for a duck, leaving India A struggling at 76/5 after 15.1 overs.
Shivam Dube contributed 14 runs off 27 balls, and KL Rahul played a solid innings, scoring 57 off 121 balls with seven boundaries before being dismissed by Mukesh.
In the later stages, Akash Deep scored 43 off 42 balls, featuring three boundaries and four sixes. Despite his efforts, India A were bowled out for 198, losing by 76 runs. Yash Dayal was the standout bowler for India B, claiming three wickets.
