[WATCH] “Khelne de na yaar, abhi abhi aaya hai” – Rohit Sharma’s hilarious message recorded on stump mic during IND vs BAN T20 World Cup 2024 match
Rohit Sharma is known for the fun comments he makes on the field during a game, usually recorded on the stump mic. The Indian skipper, during the team’s T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 match against Bangladesh, was caught in a similar moment.
India and Bangladesh squared off in the Super 8 Group 1 match on Saturday, June 22, at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua. The Men in Blue registered a comfortable victory and continued their winning streak in the tournament.
Rohit Sharma’s comments were recorded on the stump mic during the second innings when India were defending the target. Instructing one of the players of his team, the Indian captain was heard saying:
“Kya yaar khelne de na yaar, abhi abhi aaya hai aada maarne de na. Ek out hua hai aada maarne se.” (Let him play, he’s just come to the field, let him hit here and there. One of them just got out trying to hit here and there)

India take top spot in points table with second Super 8 win
Team India bagged two more points after their win against Bangladesh and jumped to the top of the points table. The Rohit Sharma-led side now have four points from two matches played in Group 1. They are scheduled to play one more game before the semi-finalists are decided.
India defeated Afghanistan in their first match of the second stage to kick off their T20 World Cup 2024 Super 8 campaign in style. They took on Bangladesh in their next encounter and bagged a 50-run victory courtesy of equal contributions from batters and bowlers.
India are one step away from clinching a spot in the sem-final, as they’re set to face Australia in their final Super 8 match. The two teams are set to lock horns on Monday, June 24, at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia.
A win against the Aussies would help Rohit Sharma and Co. finish on top of the Group 1 points table, and it will all but confirm their place in the final four. Notably, India and Australia faced each other in the 2023 ODI World Cup final in Ahmedabad, with the latter eventually lifting the trophy.
