[Watch] Kieron Pollard smashes a one-handed six off Mohammad Amir in ABF vs TKR CPL 2024 clash

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) captain Kieron Pollard displayed his power by hitting a one-handed six off Antigua and Barbuda Falcons' pacer Mohammad Amir in the eighth match of the Caribbean Premier League 2024. The game took place at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua on Thursday, September 5.

The key moment occurred on the third ball of the 17th over. Amir delivered a full ball wide outside off, and despite Pollard’s bottom hand slipping off the bat, he still managed to send the ball over the long-off boundary for a six.

However, Amir swiftly retaliated by dismissing the TKR captain on the next delivery. The veteran all-rounder slammed 30 off 15 balls, including two fours and as many sixes.

Here’s the video of the maximum:

Chasing a target of 177, TKR lost opener Sunil Narine for a duck. Andries Gous and Shaqkere Parris then formed a 62-run partnership off 47 balls for the second wicket before Parris was dismissed for 31 by Fabian Allen.

The left-arm spinner then dismissed the dangerous Nicholas Pooran for a golden duck by taking a spectacular catch off his own bowling. Shortly after, Gous was dismissed for 39, leaving the Knight Riders at 79-4 in the 12th over.

Kieron Pollard and Keacy Carty (34) provided some resistance, but their efforts fell short as the Falcons bowlers held their nerve to secure a six-run victory.

Imad Wasim shines with the bat for Falcons

Asked to bat first, Antigua and Barbuda Falcons openers Fakhar Zaman and Justin Greaves set a strong foundation with a 65-run partnership off 35 balls before Greaves was dismissed by Sunil Narine for 37 off 19.

Fakhar contributed 38 off 26 balls, while Imad Wasim delivered an impressive innings of 46 off 29 balls. At the end, Fabian Allen remained unbeaten on 25 off 11, helping ABF to a total of 176-6 in their 20 overs.
