[Watch] KL Rahul imitates Shubman Gill in practice session ahead of the 3rd ODI against Sri Lanka
Indian keeper-batter KL Rahul appeared to be in a light mood as he imitated Shubman Gill during the practice session ahead of the 3rd ODI game against Sri Lanka. The Men in Blue will face the Island Nation in a must-win game to tie the series on Wednesday, August 7.
During the practice session, Indian opener Shubman Gill jogged as he made his way to the field from the dressing room. KL Rahul, who appeared to be in a good mood, mimicked him while jogging and grinned as he passed.
Here’s the video of the moment:
After whitewashing the hosts in the T20I series, the Men in Blue have struggled in ODIs. The first game ended in a tie while India was below par in the second game of the series.
Chasing a target of 241 runs, Indian captain Rohit Sharma provided a great start. The Indian opener carried on his good form and scored 64 runs off 44 balls, hitting five boundaries and four sixes.
However, as soon as Rohit was dismissed, the Indian middle order collapsed like the first game. In no time, Men in Blue went from 97/0 to 147/6. Axar Patel (44 off 44 balls) fought hard but it was the Sri Lankan bowlers who were on fire.
Leading the way was Jeffrey Vandersay. The Sri Lankan leg-spinner took six wickets in his spell of 10 overs as the hosts won the game by 32 runs. Team India will be looking to bring their A-game in the final match to the series.
KL Rahul might find himself on the bench in the last game of the series
KL Rahul, who made his return to the Indian side after the England Test series, which took place earlier this year, hasn’t impressed in the two games. On the pitches that are assisting spinner, KL Rahul, like the other Indian batters, struggled during his stay at the crease.
Team India might bring Rishabh Pant into the scheme of things for the last ODI. The left-handed batter can change the complexion of the game through his attacking style of play.
With KL Rahul not helping himself in the first two games, there is a high probability that Pant might get his first game of the series in the final match.
