[Watch] KL Rahul and wife Athiya Shetty spotted at Mumbai airport after IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper KL Rahul was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport with his wife Athiya Shetty. Rahul currently has much-needed time off from cricket after he was not picked for the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled to be played in the West Indies and the USA, beginning on June 1.

Rahul couldn't guide the Super Giants to the 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They finished seventh in the table with 14 points from as many games. They were on equal points with the fourth-placed Royal Challengers Bengaluru but had a poor NRR. Thus, they had to crash out of this year's tournament after reaching the playoffs in 2022 and 2023.

Days after bowing out of IPL 2024, KL Rahul was seen at the Mumbai airport alongside his wife Athiya. The wicketkeeper-batter looked dapper in a grey t-shirt, green joggers, and pink sneakers, while Athiya complemented him with a white t-shirt and brown pants.

KL Rahul congratulates KKR for winning IPL 2024

Wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul congratulated the Kolkata Knight Riders on winning the 2024 edition of the cash-rich league. The Knight Riders, who finished on top of the points table after the league phase, defeated the SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets to win their third IPL title. Only Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have more IPL titles than them - five each.

Rahul took to Instagram stories to congratulate Shreyas Iyer and company. He wrote:

"A team that was consistent throughout the tournament. A team that played an exciting brand of cricket. A team that deserved to win this season. Many congratulations @kkriders."

Bowling first, KKR restricted the SunRisers Hyderabad to 113 runs in 18.3 overs. Andre Russell was the pick of the bowlers with a three-wicket haul, while Mitchell Starc and Harshit Rana scalped two wickets apiece. In reply, Venkatesh Iyer guided the Knight Riders home in just 10.3 overs with a stunning half-century.
