Team India spinner Kuldeep Yadav gave a fierce sendoff to Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan during the 2024 T20 World Cup match on Saturday (June 22). The Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua, hosted the clash.

India batted first in the contest and notched up a massive total of 196/5 in 20 overs, with decent contributions from the batting department. Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain scalped two wickets apiece for Bangladesh with the ball.

Bangladesh got off to a fine start as they found themselves at 66/1 in the ninth over. Just as the second wicket partnership was frustrating India, Kuldeep Yadav provided a breakthrough by dismissing Tanzid Hasan (29) on the fourth ball of the over. Kuldeep was fired up after the wicket as he gave a send-off to the batter, who was looking in decent touch.

Kuldeep Yadav picked up two more wickets and derailed Bangladesh's chase, putting India in the driver's seat. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh then picked up two wickets apiece in the death overs and restricted the opposition team to 146/8 in 20 overs, as India won the match by 50 runs.

At the post-match presentation, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma reflected on the win and said:

"Considering everything, I think we adapted well. There is a little bit of here, you need to take into account and then you know be smart in how you want to choose that options, so I thought we were very smart with the bat and then we used the conditions really well with the ball as well. So overall was a great effort from the team."

On the effort of the batting department, Rohit continued:

"The top order laid the platform and then Hardik being Hardik, with the what is capable of today was a perfect example of what you can do with that, so you know again very crucial for us."
