Kohli was dismissed for 14 by Vandersay

While Kohli managed to overturn the lbw decision against him in the 15th over, he failed to build a significant score.

The 35-year-old was dismissed for 14 off 19, trapped leg before by leg-spinner Vandersay. The right-handed batter missed a flipper from Vandersay and was caught right in front of the stumps. This time, the former India captain decided not to review the dismissal.

Kohli was Vandersay's fourth wicket in the Indian innings. Before that, the bowler had sent back Men in Blue skipper Rohit, Shubman Gill (35) and Shivam Dube (0).

Vandersay also added the scalps of Shreyas Iyer (7) and KL Rahul (0) to finish with a memorable six-wicket haul. Axar Patel contributed 44 but couldn't take India over the line, as he fell to Asalanka (3-20).

The third and final ODI of the three-match series will be played at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Wednesday, August 7.
