[Watch] "Kya beat karaaya yaar" - Rishabh Pant rolls his arm over in the nets ahead of IND vs BAN 2024 2nd Test

Team India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant shed his gloves to try out some spin bowling during the net session at the Green Park in Kanpur ahead of the second Test against Bangladesh. The series finale is scheduled to begin from Friday, September 27, with the hosts boasting a 1-0 lead.

In a video released by the BCCI on the eve of the contest, Pant can be seen rolling his arm over against Shubman Gill. While having a turn with the ball, KL Rahul reminded Pant of his bowling exploits in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) recently.

Pant initially bowled seam up, but then switched to leg spin, and was instantly delighted with the result.

"Kya beat karaaya yaar (I managed to beat him so well)," Pant said.
"Tagdi practice karwayi thhi tune, Rishabh (That was an intense practice session because of you, Rishabh)," Gill said in reply.

India hit the nets hard to stay in rhythm and adapt to the new black soil conditions after playing on a red-soil pitch in Chennai for the series opener.

The wicketkeeper-batter eased back into Test cricket after a two-year absence and scored his sixth ton during the second innings of the series opener in Chepauk.

Rishabh Pant recently bowled in the Delhi Premier League and has one first-class wicket to his name

Leading the Purani Dilli 6 in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), Pant brought himself into bowl in the opening match against the South Delhi Superstarz. It helped maintain the trend of batters rolling their arm over whenever possible under new head coach Gautam Gambhir's regime.

The opposition required only one run to win off the last over at the Arun Jaitley Stadium when the wicket-keeper turned up to bowl. He delivered a low full toss which the batter hit down the ground to end the contest.

Pant has also bowled a couple of overs in first class cricket, conceding nine runs and picking up a wicket in the process.
