[Watch] Kyle Verreynne celebrates like Shubman Gill after his 2nd century in 2024 BAN vs SA 1st Test

South Africa wicketkeeper-batter Kyle Verreynne bowed down to celebrate his second century on Day 2 of the opening Test against Bangladesh at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Tuesday, October 22. The right-handed batter scored 114 runs off 144 balls, a knock laced with two sixes and eight fours. He became only the third Proteas wicketkeeper to score a Test ton in Asia after AB de Villiers and Quinton de Kock.

During his knock, Verreynne also shared a 119-run partnership with Wiaan Mulder (54 off 112) for the seventh wicket to recover the visitors from 108/6. His knock helped the Proteas take a 202-run lead against Bangladesh.

The milestone was achieved in the 86th over of SA’s first innings. Taijul Islam bowled a full-length ball outside off-stump and Verreynne played it later for a single towards the fine leg. He punched the air and took a bow to celebrate his ton as fans and teammates stood up to applaud. The celebrations were quite similar to India’s Shubman Gill.
