[Watch] "Ladke paagal hore dance karne ke liye" - Gautam Gambhir during Chandrakant Pandit's speech after KKR's IPL 2024 final win

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) trumped Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in the IPL 2024 final at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, May 26. They chased down a modest 113-run total in just 10.3 overs to secure their third title.

Following the IPL 2024 final, KKR head coach Chandrakant Pandit delivered a speech in the dressing room. Gautam Gambhir, the team's mentor, interrupted Pandit by suggesting that the players were getting impatient to dance.

Gambhir was heard saying:

"Ladke paagal hore dance karne ke liye."

It is worth mentioning that Gautam Gambhir has played a pivotal role in all of KKR's three IPL title victories. Under his captaincy, Kolkata won the coveted trophy in 2012 and 2014.

The former Team India opener was roped in for a mentorship role ahead of the 2024 edition. With his arrival, the Kolkata-based team clinched the IPL title after a decade-long wait.

"I will never forget that message" - KKR's Nitish Rana shares details of a text message from Gautam Gambhir

Speaking at a post-match interview after the IPL 2024 final, Nitish Rana mentioned that he was delighted with Gautam Gambhir joining the team as a mentor.

The southpaw stated that he even sent a congratulatory text to Gambhir. Rana disclosed that the former KKR skipper replied that he would be happy if Kolkata emerged victoriously in the campaign.

Rana said:

"I want to share one short story that when GG bhaiya (Gambhir) was named the mentor, I sent him a long message as I was really happy. But he replied saying, 'Thank you but I would be happy if we stand at the podium with the trophy in our hands'. Today is that day and I will never forget that message."

SRH's 113-run score is the lowest-ever total in an IPL final. Mitchell Starc was adjudged the Player of the Match in the summit clash as he claimed the crucial wickets of Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi.
