[Watch] Lauren Cheatle cleans up Richa Ghosh in Birmingham Phoenix vs Southern Brave match in The Hundred Women's 2024

Birmingham Phoenix batter Richa Ghosh was cleaned up by Southern Brave fast bowler Lauren Cheatle during The Hundred Women's encounter between the two teams. The fixture is taking place on Saturday, August 3 in Edgbaston.

Ghosh had already hit one boundary and was looking to up the ante by trying to take on Cheatle. However, the left-arm pacer from around the wicket bowled a nice change-of-pace delivery on a good length. Richa Ghosh was too early into her shot as she saw her stumps rattled.

Take a look at the dismissal:

The Southern Brave fielders swarmed around Lauren Cheatle and were understandably ecstatic as they knew the kind of damage that Richa Ghosh was capable of. The dismissal took place on the 68th ball of the Phoneix's innings.

Lauren Cheatle and other bowlers step up to restrict Birmingham Phoenix to 137/7

Birmingham Phoenix's innings never really took off as they kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and it proved to be a great decision from the Southern Brave to win the toss and bowl first.

Sophie Devine (6 off 7), Sterre Kalis (14 off 13), and skipper Ellyse Perry (14 off 14) all failed to get going before Amy Jones stepped up with a valiant half-century (51 off 36). Richa couldn't provide the explosive finish as she too departed for just 9 off as many balls.

Emily Arlott (22 off 12) provided some lusty blows towards the end of their innings to somehow push Phoenix to 137/7. Young Tilly Corteen-Coleman was the pick of the bowlers as she conceded just 22 runs in her four sets with a couple of wickets.

Lauren Cheatle was economical, with just 14 runs conceded in her 20 deliveries, with as many as 13 dot balls and the wicket of Richa Ghosh. The Brave will back themselves to chase down 138.
