[Watch] “Long life” - French footballer Paul Pogba extends birthday wishes to Virat Kohli on YouTuber ISHOWSPEED's livestream
Paul Pogba, the World Cup-winning footballer from France, extended birthday wishes to Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli, who turned 36 on Tuesday, November 5. He did it during a live stream with renowned YouTuber ISHOWSPEED.
On Tuesday, during a live stream, ISHOWSPEED (Darren Watkins Jr.) searched for Kohli on Google and asked the French footballer if he had heard of the ace Indian batter. Speed then went on to say:
“Virat, happy birthday my boy. He’s a legend, he is literally the best cricket player in the entire world.”
Pogba added:
“Happy birthday bro. Long life.”
Here’s a video of the interaction:
In September 2023, Juventus player Paul Pogba tested positive for DHEA, a substance that increases testosterone levels. This resulted in a four-year ban. However, in October 2024, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) shortened the ban to 18 months. As a result, Pogba will be allowed to resume training in January and is eligible to return to playing in March 2025.
Meanwhile, Speed has garnered over 32 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, @ISHOWSPEED. He regularly travels to different countries, connecting with locals, football fans, and players.
Virat Kohli to return to action during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25
The 36-year-old will return to action when India face Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting November 22 in Perth. Virat Kohli was recently part of India's three-match Test series against New Zealand, where he had a lackluster performance, scoring only 93 runs across six innings as India suffered a 3-0 whitewash.
However, Kohli boasts a solid Test record against Australia, with 2,042 runs from 25 matches at an average of 47.48, including five fifties and eight centuries. His performance in Australia is even more remarkable, having accumulated 1,352 runs in 13 games at an average of 54.08, with four fifties and six centuries.
India will need to win the series by at least a 4-0 margin to secure a spot in the World Test Championship Final on their own, and Kohli will need to step up for the visitors if they are to achieve this historic feat.
