[Watch] LSG players and support staff cover KL Rahul with cake as they celebrate captain's birthday

IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) players celebrated their skipper KL Rahul's birthday in typical fashion.

In a video released by the franchise on their social media handles, Rahul could be seen covered in cake following the celebrations.

Here's the full video that LSG put up:

Rahul, who turned 32 on Thursday, April 18, fed the first piece of the cake after cutting to head coach Justin Langer, while other teammates joined in to rub the cake on his face.

The team are currently preparing for a home game against defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

On the cricketing side of things, after registering a hat-trick of wins over Punjab Kings, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Gujarat Titans, LSG have lost their last two matches to the Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders, respectively.

KL Rahul also needs to work on his consistency, given he has failed to convert his starts on a few occasions. The Karnataka-born cricketer has managed to score 204 runs in six matches, averaging 34 and a strike rate of 138.77.

With fast bowler Mayank Yadav nursing an injury, forcing him to miss the last two games, his potential return could be a huge boost for the Super Giants. The Lucknow-based side are fifth on the table with three wins an as many defeats.

Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, will be high on confidence after winning two on the bounce, beating the Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians in their last two games. They are currently third in the table with four wins and two defeats in six matches.

The two teams have faced each other thrice in IPL history, with LSG and CSK managing a win each, while one game was washed out.
