[Watch] Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik send Rachin Ravindra packing in CSK vs RCB IPL 2024 match

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) made a vital incision as they sent the set batter Rachin Ravindra packing in the IPL 2024 clash against the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Mahipal Lomror and Dinesh Karthik did outstanding work to give their side a crucial wicket.

The dismissal occurred in the 13th over of the innings as Rachin Ravindra flicked one to the on-side and called for a double, but Dube was struggling. Ravindra took the call and left the crease, but found himself well short at the striker's end as Dinesh Karthik whipped the bails off. The southpaw had to walk back for 61 off 37 as the Super Kings lost all the momentum.

The home side had already made a fantastic start as Glenn Maxwell got rid of Ruturaj Gaikwad in the first ball of the innings. Daryl Mitchell (4) couldn't make a big difference either and was dismissed cheaply; however, Ajinkya Rahane crafted a handy knock of 33 off 22 deliveries.

Meanwhile, RCB set a daunting chase of 219 for the defending champions after Ruturaj Gaikwad sent them into bat. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli got RCB off to a brisk start with a 78-run opening stand before the latter departed for 47.

Du Plessis was unlucky to be dismissed at the non-striker's end for 54, but the likes of Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, and Glenn Maxwell didn't let the momentum sway away. Patidar struck a 23-ball 41, while Green hammered three sixes and as many boundaries in his unbeaten knock of 38 from 17 deliveries.

Maxwell also contributed 16 off 5 balls before making his way to the pavilion. With 219 set to win, anything above 200 will send the Super Kings into the playoffs. However, anything less means RCB will get the ticket to the top 4.
