A fan, who invaded the pitch during the IPL 2024 season, recalled a heartwarming conversation with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni. The incident took place when Dhoni was batting for CSK against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. He ran to the pitch to meet his idol and fell on his feet.
Dhoni also had a bit of fun as he tried to evade the pitch invader before finally giving him a hug. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the fan spoke to Focused Indian and explained the conversation he had with Dhoni.
The fan also claimed that MS Dhoni assured him he would look after the former's nose surgery. Here's what the fan said:
"I went mad. I touched his feet. He is a legend, I had tears in my eyes. He asked me why I was breathing heavily. I had jumped the fence, ran onto the pitch and I was breathing heavily. I told him about a problem with my nose. He said: 'Teri surgery ka mai dekh lunga. Tujhe kuch nahi hoga, tu ghabara mat. Mai tujhe kuch nahi hone dunga (I will take care of your surgery. Don't worry. I will not let anything happen to you')."

The fan further claimed that when he was held by the security. Dhoni then urged them to not handle him roughly and to take him off the field respectfully.
CSK CEO hopeful of MS Dhoni playing IPL 2025
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan recently opened up about MS Dhoni's future as a Chennai player. While many have been speculating that Dhoni has played his final IPL, Viswanathan is awaiting a response from the legendary wicketkeeper. Personally, for him, he was hopeful that Dhoni would be back to play IPL 2025.
Here's what he had said in a video posted by CSK:
"See, the question for us is, we've always respected the decisions taken by MS. We have left it to him. And as all of you know, he has always taken his decisions and announced them at the appropriate time. We are very, very hopeful that he will be available for CSK next year. That is the view and the expectations of fans and me. That's the case."
MS Dhoni's CSK bowed out of the IPL 2024 season in the league phase as they lost to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their final league game by 27 runs and failed to make it to the playoffs.
