[Watch] Marco Jansen dismisses Sanju Samson for a second consecutive duck in 3rd IND vs SA T20I

South Africa pacer Marco Jansen dismissed India opener Sanju Samson for a duck for a second consecutive time in the third T20I of the four-match series at SuperSport Park in Centurion. After attaining a rare feat of scoring back-to-back T20I centuries after the first T20I in Durban, Samson failed to replicate those performances.

He was dismissed for a three-ball duck and a two-ball duck in the second and third T20Is, respectively, with Jansen taking his wicket in the opening over on both occasions.

Jansen was elated and pumped up after dismissing Samson for the second successive time. It was a good length delivery that Samson failed to get bat on, and it eventually hit the top of the off-stump.

Here’s a video of Sanju Samson’s dismissal:

With this dismissal, Samson achieved an unwanted record, becoming the player with the third-most number of ducks for India in T20Is, taking his tally to six. He follows former T20 internationals Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who have 12 and seven ducks to their account, respectively.

India’s top-order get their team back on track after early blow

Though India suffered an early blow with Sanju Samson’s dismissal on the second delivery of the game, opener Abhishek Sharma and No. 3 batter Tilak Varma got their side back on track and handled the pressure really well.

Getting no runs off the first three deliveries of the opening over, Varma scored 12 runs off the next three balls. Abhishek Sharma took charge next as he hit Gerald Coetzee for two fours and a six as 15 runs came off the second over, including a wide.

The duo kept the scoreboard ticking at a good rate and finished the powerplay at 70 runs for the loss of one wicket. While it’ll be interesting to see how much the Indian batters score on the fast-paced surface, it’ll be even more interesting to see how they defend the total on the high-scoring pitch.
