[Watch] Mehidy Hasan Miraz gifts Rohit Sharma a bat of his own firm after IND vs BAN 2024 Test series

Bangladesh all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz gifted a bat of the company started by him to Rohit Sharma last year following the recent away Test series against India. The spin-bowling all-rounder was glad to gift the Indian captain a bat.

Along with his ex-teammate and opener Imrul Kayes and other friends, Mehidy started a new bat firm named MKS Sports. The 26-year-old has been gaining stardom in recent times. The Bangladesh coach feels he is ready to succeed Shakib Al Hasan as the premier all-rounder after his heroics in the historic Test series win over Pakistan.

In a video posted by MKS Sports on social media, Miraz said:

"I am with Rohit bhai and I gifted him a bat from my company. I always wished to give him a bat and so I am very happy."

The off-spinner had also dismissed Rohit twice in the second Test of the recently concluded series against India in Kanpur. However, Bangladesh fell to two heavy defeats on the tour, thereby also hampering their chances of reaching the World Test Championship (WTC) final significantly.

In the same video, Rohit acknowledged the youngster as a promising cricketer and hopes his company gains greater heights moving forward. The veteran said:

"I know Mehidy from a long time. He is a very good cricketer. And I am very proud of him that he has started his own bat company along with some of his friends. I want to wish him all the best, May god give him all the success. And I hope this company will rise above everyone else."

The Bangladesh all-rounder will next be in action during the T20I series against India, starting on October 6.

Bangladesh will then compete in the home Test series against South Africa in October. The Tigers will host the Proteas for two Tests in Dhaka and Chattogram from October 21.
