[Watch] "Mere ko daalna padega" - Rohit Sharma comes up with fresh stump mic gem on Day 2 of BGT 2024-25 4th Test
Team India skipper Rohit Sharma's stump microphone comments have often garnered a lot of attention. The veteran batter was back at it on Day 2 (Friday, December 27) of the ongoing Boxing Day Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 against Australia.
Sharma's conversation with left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja was captured on the stump mic. In a video posted by Star Sports on X, Sharma cheekily remarked that he might have to roll his arm to get a breakthrough.
The 37-year-old can be heard saying:
"Nahi jayega yaar. Udhar out jo jayega, itna lamba hai udhar yaar. Humein out karne mein dekhna hai usko yaar. Out kaun karega phir? Main? Mere ko daalna padega (It won't go. He will get out, the boundary is big there. We have to look to get him out. Who will take a wicket? Me? I will have to bowl)."
Rohit Sharma's stump mic comments went viral on the opening day of the Boxing Day Test as well. He was unhappy with Yashasvi Jaiswal getting up early from his position at silly mid-off and asked the youngster not to get up until the batter had completed his shot.
Rohit Sharma dismissed cheaply on Day 2 of BGT 2024-25 4th Test
After batting at No. 6 in the previous two Tests of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Rohit Sharma returned to his usual opening spot for the ongoing Boxing Day Test. The move raised many eyebrows, given that KL Rahul had done a commendable job at the top of the order so far in the series.
Sharma's change of batting order didn't yield positive results for the visitors as he was dismissed cheaply. The star batter scored just three runs off five balls before falling to his Australian counterpart Pat Cummins in the second over of India's first innings.
The seasoned campaigner's form has concerned many, as he has failed to get going on the Australia tour. Sharma has scored just 22 runs across four innings at a dismal average of 5.50.
