[Watch] MI co-owner Nita Ambani and Rohit Sharma spotted having conversation after their IPL 2024 campaign ends in defeat to LSG

Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma and co-owner Nita Ambani were spotted chatting after their loss to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday, May 17. In a video that emerged on social media, the two were seen having a casual chat, unlike an animated one, expected by some fans.

The conversation between the two also reminded the fans about the animated interaction between KL Rahul and LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka after a match earlier in the month.

In what was both teams' final IPL 2024 group game, the Lucknow Super Giants prevailed by 18 runs in a high-scoring contest.

After Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya asked the visiting side to bat first, they piled up 214-6 in 20 overs, headlined by Nicholas Pooran's explosive 29-ball 75. KL Rahul also recorded a calm half-century.

Mumbai Indians tried their level best but fell short and suffered their ninth defeat of the season. It was also MI's second loss to the Super Giants in IPL 2024, having lost earlier at the Ekana International Stadium.

From the perspective of the Indian team, with the T20 World Cup 2024 looming, Rohit's explosive 38-ball 68-run knock was the biggest plus of the night. The right-handed batter brought up his half-century off only 29 deliveries before Ravi Bishnoi got the better of Rohit to derail MI's run chase.

With the 37-year-old struggling to find form in the last few innings, he finished the season on a decent note, accumulating 417 runs in 14 matches at an average of 32.07 and a strike rate of 150. However, the five-time champions finished at the bottom of the points table. Naman Dhir, who hammered an unbeaten 62 off 28 deliveries, was the only other MI batter to cross the 50-run mark

As for the Super Giants, a win wasn't enough to keep them in contention for the playoffs as the 18-run win didn't boost their net run rate much. It was the first time since their debut in 2022 that LSG had failed to reach the top four.
