[Watch] Michael Neser takes a stunning tumbling catch on the boundary in WA vs QLD Sheffield Shield 2024 match

Australian seamer Michael Neser took a stunning relay catch on the boundary during the Sheffield Shield encounter between Queensland and Western Australia at the WACA in Perth. The right-arm seamer controlled the ball exceptionally well to prevent himself from going beyond the boundary line.

The dismissal occurred in the 125th over of the innings as Marnus Labuschagne came on to bowl medium pace. With Labuschagne sending down a short-pitched delivery, Brody Couch got a top edge as Neser came running in towards fine leg and caught the ball. After catching it above its head, the 34-year-old threw the ball and jumped to take the catch while ensuring his feet were inside the boundary line.

It was also Labuschagne's second wicket of the innings as he had dismissed Cameron Gannon earlier. The 30-year-old finished with ridiculous figures of 6.2-3-5-2.

Michael Neser took a fifer against Western Australia to boost his chances of playing in the upcoming Test series against India, beginning on November 22. Following the opening day of the Sheffield Shield clash, he was quoted as saying by Perth Now:

"I think every bowler in the country would say that they’ve got their eye on that (India series). There’s not much you can do apart from putting performances on the board. It’s handy that I just (got five wickets) first game. Hopefully I can carry this momentum throughout the season.”

The South African-born cricketer has taken seven wickets in two Tests at an average of 16.71 after debuting during the 2021 Ashes. With Australia set to play five Tests against India in short timeframes, Neser could get an opportunity as bowlers' workload and rotation will be critical.

The Aussies last held the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after the 2014-15 series Down Under.
