[Watch] Mitchell Marsh gets rid of in-form Dhruv Jurel cheaply as Labuschagne takes sharp low catch in 1st IND vs AUS BGT 2024-25 Test
Mitchell Marsh took the prized scalp of in-form Dhruv Jurel on Day 1 of the first Test between India and Australia in Perth on Friday, November 25. The wicketkeeper-batter looked good for 11 off 20 balls, hitting two boundaries, before getting dismissed.
The dismissal came in the 28th over of India’s first innings. Marsh bowled a floater delivery and Jurel went on to his front foot to defend it towards mid-off. The right-handed batter was done for pace and ended up edging it to the slips. With the wicket, the tourists lost half their side for just 59 runs.

“We never put an upper limit [on overs] on anymore” – Pat Cummins backs Mitchell Marsh to deliver with the ball in the Test series against India
Australia captain Pat Cummins backed Mitchell Marsh to deliver with the ball in the absence of injured Cameron Green in the Test series. He said (via ESPNcricinfo):
“We never put an upper limit [on overs] on anyone. But he's ready to go and happy to bowl as much as we need. I would imagine a few spells each innings. He's been bowling great this week, his body is the best it has been for a while."
“He is an allrounder and with the way us four bowlers set out, we never really budget around an allrounder bowling heaps,” he added.
As far as the match is concerned, the visitors were 93/6, with Rishabh Pant and Nitish Kumar Reddy at the crease. KL Rahul looked as the only positive in the first session before getting controversially dismissed caught behind for 26 off 74.
Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Marsh have scalped two wickets apiece for the hosts so far.
