[Watch] Mitchell Santner traps Jasprit Bumrah lbw for his seventh wicket on Day 2 of IND vs NZ 2024 2nd Test
New Zealand spin-bowling all-rounder Mitchell Santner picked up his seventh wicket of the innings as he dismissed Jasprit Bumrah for a duck on Day 2 of the second Test against India in Pune. The left-arm spinner finished with figures of 53/7, his best figures in an innings in a Test in his brief career.
The dismissal of the 30-year-old occurred in the 46th over of the innings as Santner came on to bowl his 19th. With Jasprit Bumrah on strike, the right-arm pacer defended the first two deliveries and strode forward to do the same off the third. However, he missed the ball completely and the ball struck the pad, leading to the umpire raising his finger. On reviewing, the conclusion was that the ball would hit middle and leg.

He later dismissed Ravindra Jadeja and Akash Deep, followed by Bumrah for his seventh scalp of the innings.

Among the middle-order batters, Rachin Ravindra crafted a knock of 65, but the tourists collapsed from 197-3 to 259.
Washington Sundar starred with a seven-wicket haul, but Southee claiming Rohit meant India went to stumps at 16/1. New Zealand already lead the three-match series after winning the first Test by eight wickets.
